The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is a registered children’s charity founded by Jonathan Irwin and his wife Mary Ann O’Brien in 1997, based on their own experience of caring for their son Jack at home until his death at the age of 22 months.

This national charity provides specialist home nursing care for children aged 0-4 years with severe to profound developmental delay. Over the years our service has evolved and developed and now also provides end of life home nursing care for children up to age of four years.

The Jack and Jill homecare nursing model is designed and delivered by 12 specialist liaison nurses. They coordinate the homecare service throughout the 26 counties whilst supporting and advocating on behalf of these children and their families. Since 1997 the Jack & Jill service has supported over 2,300 children, it operates 365 days a year, has no waiting list and 2017 is its 20th Anniversary Year.
