An Interdisciplinary Conference

Siobhan registered as a General Nurse in 2009 and worked in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin and Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee, in both surgical and medical wards. She went on to travel to New Zealand and Australia, working for a short period as a carer to get a flavour of health care overseas.

On returning she joined a nursing agency in 2012 which led her down the path of paediatric home cases. Caring for children with complex needs at home was both challenging and rewarding. Based on the needs of each case, she developed her specialist skills by attending courses in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and Temple Street, Children’s University Hospital. From there she decided to further her education in this specialist area by completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care from University of Limerick (2014).

She joined the Kerry Specialist Palliative Care Team as an RGN in 2014 and covers the South Kerry area delivering specialist palliative care to adults and children in the community.
