Call for Abstracts – Is Now Closed

All entries will be contacted mid September with results. 



The sharing of knowledge and expertise forms an integral element of the Children’s Palliative Care Conference. We are looking for abstract submissions for both oral and poster presentations on topics related to this year’s theme of ‘Contemporary Challenges’ to support the invited international and national guest speakers.

Please ensure your submission includes:

  • Title of Abstract
  • Personal / Professional Details
    • Full name
    • Place of work/study
    • Professional status/ Job title
    • Email
    • Telephone number

The following Criteria apply to ALL Abstracts submitted: Abstract Submission Criteria

  1. The abstract text cannot exceed 300 words
  2. 15 Word Limit on the Length of the Abstract Title
  3. Abstracts must be written in English
  4. Acronyms and abbreviations must be explained
  5. The abstract text must not contain information about the presenters or institutions involved, in order to facilitate the blind review process
  6. Graphs are not allowed in the abstract
  7. Generic drug names are preferred. The use of trade names should only be used when absolutely necessary
  8. The author will be asked and is required to indicate the source of funding (if applicable)  in the submission process
  9. The author is required to indicate if their abstract has been presented elsewhere

The following Criteria apply to:

Research Abstracts

    • Title
    • Background
    • Aims and Objectives
    • Methods
    • Findings/Results
    • Conclusion(s)

Note: Any Research Abstract must have FULL results to be considered for Platform Presentation or interim results for a Poster Presentation

All other Abstracts (E.G. Quality Improvement Initiatives, Case Studies or Audits)

    • Title
    • Background to the initiative
    •  Aims/Objectives
    •  How you went about the initiative:  Identify the key steps carried out, the tools used, and the timeframe
    • Outcome/Results: of the initiative e.g. the end measure/improvement of the initiative
    • Plan for sustainability/future plans: outline the plan for the future
